Tim Hicks – Hardcore Democrats
Tim Hicks is a professional consultant in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, and business analysis with the added benefit of being a musician and political activist.
Tim was born in Midland, Texas in 1963. His dedication to his personal interests resulted in two consecutive years of being selected among the state’s top high school French horn players by the Texas Music Educators Association. While learning the strong work ethic for which west Texans are known, Tim also grew up in an era of racial divide, social inequity, and income disparity. The experience taught him the value of non-judgmentally seeing other people for their individual talents and worth.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas in 1985, Tim moved to Dallas to begin his professional career as a Payroll Accounting Manager at Southwestern Bell Telephone. In 1989, he joined a real estate development company that, in 5 years, developed the area now known as Uptown Dallas and successfully completed an Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Afterwards, Tim became involved in the accounting and reporting for investments within the insurance industry.
Tim has served on the Board of Directors of the North American Securities Valuation Association, and has worked closely with state insurance regulators and interested parties in the development of new accounting and reporting requirements. This gave him valuable insight for working within the state regulatory and oversight space.
Tim’s political focus is on issues that are important to both sides of the partisan aisle: quality of education; controlling the area’s inevitable growth according to the Development Master Plan; caring for and protecting our Veterans and our growing elderly population; and creating a more efficient path to citizenship for those wishing to become naturalized citizens.
Tim lives in Parker, CO with his wife Angie and two sons.
